This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs. It sounds like an optimist’s prayer to me, and the message is something we should all strive for. It would be a wonderful world if we could approach our family, friends, and strangers with the same compassion we do for a few days in December. And I couldn’t be prouder than I am to have my girls Ava and Ella’s voices be the last thing you hear on this album.
lyrics
I hear the bells
Saying Christmas is near
They ring out to tell the world
That this is a season of cheer
I hear a choir
Singing sweetly somewhere
And a glow fills my heart
I'm at peace with the world
As the sound of their singing fills the air
Oh why can't every day be like Christmas
Why can't this feeling go on endlessly
For if every day could be just like Christmas
What a wonderful world this would be
I hear a child
Telling Santa what to bring
And the smile upon her tiny face
Is worth more to me than anything
Oh why can't every day be like Christmas
Why can't that feeling go on endlessly
For if every day could be just like Christmas
What a wonderful world this would be
